KISII GOVENOR JAMES ONGWAE TO FACE NEW DPP IN COURT SOON.

 According to a survey that was launched by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in 2016, Kisii and Bomet counties topped the list of counties where one was most likely to pay a bribe to access public services. The situation does not seem to have improved even now in 2018.
Reports  emerging  out of Kisii say that the the Kisii town hotel owners association, an association that brings together people who run Hotels and guest houses in the area  is now appealing to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate governor James Ongwae after it emerged that he himself is a beneficiary of corruption.

The governor is said to have forcefully taken a 40% stake in Ufanisi hotel within Kisii town from the owner Momanyi Lumumba who protested bitter in the beginning.Mr. Lumumba however cooled down after he was offered a job at the county headquarters Mr. Lumumba was instead offered a job as the new county secretary, an offer that he gladly accepted. The governor has now issued an order that all county functions must be held at Ufanisi hotel, a clear indication of conflict of interest by the governor. According to The Weekly Vision contact within the EACC Kisii office , their officers could move in any time from now to start investigation with a view of recommending to the new DPP to prosecute the governor and a few of his officers in court.
