The ODM Malava parliamentary candidate Joab Manyasi has urged voters to elect Azimio leader Raila Odinga as the next president of Kenya saying he is the country’s best choice, Mr Manyasi was on his campaign trail in the constituency, he rubbished last week's presidential debate where the Azimio leader declined to attend terming the show as nonconsequential with minimum benefits to Kenyans. It was a one-man show where DP Ruto kept defending his corrupt dealings instead of articulating issues that affect most Kenyans.
He said the refusal by Raila to attend the debate was professional and meant to safeguard his integrity as an honourable man who could not entertain the idea of engaging with Ruto. He lauded the move as mature and meant to uphold the rule of law.
We know that we are going to make the next government with or without debates; so far several opinion polls have rated Azimio as leading. Mr Manyasi also called on their supporters to be vigil from ward to presidential level and secure their votes as signs of vote rigging from some IEBC personnel had started to manifest
He cautioned those harbouring the idea of stealing the votes in favour of Kenya Kwanza that they were in for a rude shock as they will seal off any possible loopholes and see to it that free and fair elections were held.
At the same time, he assured Azimio of delivering the Malava votes adding that his main competitors in Kenya Kwanza were at loggerheads fighting for supremacy over who should be elected. I want to call on Malava voters to shun the two warring candidates and support him as he was peaceful, focused and politically mature.
