The group will limit its activities within the 17 constituencies and 85 wards in Nairobi; it is led by Mr. Kizito Dome, a man whose experience in this field stretches way back to 1992 during the clamor for the introduction of multi-party system in Kenya.
The lobby group simply known by its acronym (N.N.F) or Nairobi Network Forum in full will be led by Mr. Kizito, Mr. Steve Shipanzi, Nancy Gesire and Richard Maina on an interim basis. The officials will then embark on a massive recruitment drive, identifying and picking able individuals with proven leadership’s skills to run the operations of the group right from the grass root level. The group leaders met at one of the hotel in Nairobi where they resolved to work on the modalities.
Mr. Kizito Dome |
The relationship between Mr. Dome and the DP is not new, in the 90’s the DP offered Mr. Dome an office space for free within his vast office then located at City House, situated on Kaunda street in Nairobi.
Mr. Kizito Dome said during the meeting that selling candidate William Ruto is going to be their only priority from now onwards. He said that he has always believed in Mr. Ruto’s ability to lead this country as president and that is why he has always followed him right from his association with Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidential campaign team in 2002. Mr. Kizito was the coordinator of the Kanu Action Group for western Kenya. The team traversed the entire western Kenya, selling their preferred candidate then to the electorate.
In 2007 he was again with William Ruto in ODM, carrying out his duties as secretary general Taifa Tekelezi Lobby Group. They campaigned for Mr. Raila Odinga as a presidential candidate; William Ruto was then, the secretary general of ODM.
