National Construction Authority officials are pursuing the owner
of a building that collapsed while undergoing construction within Karen area in
Nairobi. The building collapsed on the evening of Wednesday last week injuring
two people.
The structure located at
Forest view lane has been under construction for over one year.
An officer from NCA who didn`t want
to be quoted by the press as he is not authorized to speak on official matters,
told The
Weekly Vision online that from their preliminary findings the building
had collapsed due to poor workmanship. He said that the authority is also
looking for the engineer before taking action.
The property is registered
under LR no 12495 and owned by a Mr. George Buto. The injured
people were rushed to Karen hospital by a neighbor and are said to be
recuperating well.
