The communications
department at Bungoma County is in a crisis after it was discovered that the newly
recruited head of department Mr. Timothy Machi never graduated from Makerere
University in Uganda.
“It has emerged that the person who was
recently recruited to take charge of the docket is unqualified” a source within
the executive at the county told The
Weekly Vision.
A letter from
Makerere University states that for ‘his own reason he left/disappeared’ and
thus didn’t finish his degree course.
Mr. Machi has been
asked to resign by the governor but he refuses, insisting that his papers are
genuine and in order.
It all started
when the county called the university to confirm the authenticity of his academic
credentials following a tip-off. The institution, based in Uganda is said to
have indicated through a letter that Mr. Machi never completed his degree course
at the institution.
