A parcel of land measuring 6.81 acres situated in Embu County is the subject of an ownership dispute between the grand children of the registered owner and two powerful men in the country.  A chief Magistrate currently in office and a former Permanent Secretary in former president Mwai Kibaki’s administration have been accused by the family of land grabbing. The two land grabbers are currently under investigation by the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The complainant Ms. Perpetua Njoki and Githongo Abel Murimi Ireri through a letter addressed to the office of the DPP complained bitterly of how two powerful strangers hutched an elaborate scheme to disinherit them out of the ownership of the parcel of land No.Gaturi/Githumu/ 413 which has now been subdivided into three parcels No. 12471, 12472 and 12473 and shared out. Njoki and Murimi are the grandchildren of the registered owner of the land the late Wauga Waraga.

The land was illegally subdivided and title deeds issued by faking documents like the late Wauga Waraga’s death certificate and fake court orders in an effort to speed up the issuance of deeds which they managed to achieve.

The office of the DPP through one Violet Kerubo Ombati drafted a letter Ref; ODPP/CAM/1/13/1/lll to the office of the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) ordering them to urgently investigate the complaints and report back for further action.
