DPP DEFEATED IN BID TO HAVE CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST CS AMINA’S IN LAW DROPPED

On Monday, City businessman Francis Njeru protested the DPPs move. The land in question is worth Shs 150 million. Francis Njeru said he was not consulted. Njeru has also accused the CS of meddling in the case. Jibril is the chairman of 748 Air Services, a local airline company.

The office of the DPP has lost an application to have criminal charges against Sports CS Amina Mohamed in law dropped. The DPP had gone to court seeking that charges against Farah Mohamed wife to Ahmed Jibril who is Brother to the CS dropped.
The two, jointly with others not before court, were accused of conspiring to defraud Njeru of his Nairobi parcel on October 19, 2015. The Magistrate court ruled that the case must proceed to full trial. The Court ruled that Farah Mohamed must appear in court on 27th May to take plea.

He appeared before resident magistrate R. Aganyo on January 21 at the Milimani Magistrate’s Court and pleaded not guilty. He was released on Sh2 million bond.
Mohamed was to take plea but failed to show up in court twice — on January 21, 2019, and February 24, 2019.She has skipped Court twice. Njeru sued China Road and Bridges Corporation for allegedly occupying his land illegally.

ARJ Capital Limited, which is jointly owned by Jibril and Mohamed, then moved to court to be enjoined in the suit as an interested party. ARJ Capital Limited had leased the land to China Road and Bridges Corporation yet it’s not theirs.
