A Lebanese employer identified as Wael Jerro on Facebook, has announced the sale of a Nigerian woman, a domestic worker through the popular social media forum, Facebook.

Wael Jerro, a resident of Beirut Lebanon, posted a photo of the lady called Peace Busari Ufuoma on a Facebook group called ‘Buy and Sell Lebanon. He placed a $1,000 price tag on the domestic worker, saying the Nigerian was very active and very clean. Peace Busari Ufuoma acquired her passport in May 2018, indicated that she hails from Ibadan, Oyo State.

The incident has generated diverse reactions in Naigeria, it was brought to light by an Instagram user, @thereneeabisaad, who called on the Nigerian government to save the lady from her “captors”. She wrote, “This is inhuman. I have reported to the Nigerian embassy. Please do the same if you know anyone in the Nigerian embassy in Lebanon.”
