Three robbers from Kenya masquerading as fishermen have been arrested in Uganda after a foiled robbery. The three who hail from Funyula Constituency in Kenya, allegedly attacked fishermen on one of the Ugandan beaches while heavily armed, robbing them of their boat engines and other personal belongings including mobile phones.

Luckily after the attack, one fisherman who had somehow hidden his phone managed to contact other fishermen along all the beaches, including Mageta and Port Victoria in Kenya.

As the robbers were on their way back to Kenya, they spotted a patrol boat from the Kenyan side approaching; that is how they were forced to divert their boat heading to another beach in Uganda where they were arrested by fishermen on a vigil after having been informed of the robbery.

The three before landing at the beach, suspected that they have been cornered by the crowd which was waiting on the other side of the beach, they allegedly released all the engines and their weapons in the deep waters before handing themselves to the crowd that was baying for their blood. They are now held at Luzira maximum security prison in Uganda and they have so far appeared in court twice.
