NLC ACTING CHAIRPERSON FACING CORRUPTION CHARGES

It is rumored that Mbagaya is leading a team of christian religious fundamentalist within the commission who are against dominance of top offices at the commission by Muslims. It must be noted that the chairman Mr. Mohamed Swazuri is Muslim, so is the CEO Tom Aziz Chavangi.

National Land Commission acting Chairperson Abigael Mbagaya is a lady under immense pressure from a number of quarters and in particular, a multi-agency team which is combating corruption at the commission. The Weekly Vision online has reliably been informed by a source within the commission that Mrs. Mbagaya could be arrested and arraigned in court any time from now over a suspicious allocation of land in Lukenya to her kin under the name Kivaye Self Help Group. The land had been set aside by the government for resettling squatters. The file is said to have been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions by the DCI a week ago.

It has also emerged that Mrs Mbagaya has been frustrating efforts by the NLC chairman Mr. Mohamed Swazuri to gain access to his office after the court granted him orders. Trial Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi had ruled that the court had no power to bar or suspend the chairman from entering his workplace given that he occupies a constitutional office. The magistrate is said to be furious that his order is being frustrated by Mbagaya. She had earlier given orders to the security team at NLC to have locks to the chairman’s office changed.

Mbagaya is also fighting accusations by her former bodyguard. She accuses the bodyguard of possessing “intimate details of a corrupt scheme” with intention to defraud her. She is demanding disciplinary action against him, as she accused him of being used by a third party to fix her. She dint give details but the DPP is said to be in contact with the said bodyguard.
