Reports have
emerged of warnings issued by foreign missions based in Nairobi and Kenya in
general against marrying Kikuyu women. Some people within the NGO community and
diplomats are accusing the women of killing their “mzungu” husbands so as to
gain control over the wealth. The purported warning is still being treated as a
rumor; however the issue is being handled as a very hot topic among the diplomatic
community in the country.

The purported
warning is understandable as it comes at the height of the beastly murder of
Dutch Jewish tycoon Tob Cohen, allegedly by his Kikuyu wife Mrs. Sarah Wairimu
who is now in custody as a prime suspect.
A number of cases
where women from the Kikuyu community being implicated in the murder of their
husbands has been on the rise in the country, but the killing of the Dutch
billionaire triggered an instant uproar among other Kenyans and foreign
nationals as well.
The Weekly Vision
has leant that in the coastal city of Mombasa and satellite towns of Shanzu and
Mtwapa many foreign nationals who decided to settle down after meeting and
falling in love to local girls have been made to suffer irreparable financial
damages. Many have either died or have been disposed of the same through
dubious means after being persuaded by the new partners to up magnificent
buildings for rental or in most cases guest houses.
