Residents are unable to use the poorly maintained road |
The ongoing heavy
rainfall has badly affected residents of Busia County especially in the two
Teso Sub-Counties this has made most of the roads to be impassable.
A few days ago,
motor cycle riders (boda bodas) stormed the home of the Teso North Mp,Ouku
Kaunya protesting about the poor state of their road.
A few days later, school
going pupils could not report back to school after lunch due to a heavily
waterlogged road, which is 3km to Malaba Town.
In a tweet the
Teso North Mp,Ouku Kaunya, thanked the boda boda riders who demonstrated at his
residence gate saying that they were constitutionally allowed to do so.
Hon.Kaunya even
told them that his hands are tied, reminding them he protested against the same
issue of the slow pace of the construction of the Busia/Malaba road in the
National assembly. The worst hit Sub Counties are both Teso South and North.
