Interestingly it is Mr. Kweyu who suffered the most from teargas fumes emanating from canisters the police had lobbed at the Governor’s group in an attempt to disperse them. Besides Collins Kweyu, others were Steve Shitera (Citizen Tv) Jeff Angote (Nation Tv) and Joseph Wakhungu (Milele fm)

The governor is said to have been convicted 1988 and fined Sh200, 000 or in default serve six months in prison.

The Media Council letter
The Media Council has issued a media alert dated 5th Nov. bitterly complaining of the harassment directed at the journalists who were simply carrying out their duties. Mr. Kweyu also reported the matter to Kilimani police station.
