Did Sonko lie to the authorities in 2001 through an affidavit to get his prison sentence vacated on medical grounds? If that is the case then the lies, drama and all the madness surrounding him have finally caught up with him.
Governor Mike Sonko in court |
Governor Mike Sonko’s claim made 18 years ago to the effect that
he was HIV positive, epileptic and had Chronic Tuberculosis could have been one
of the reason as to why Anti-Corruption Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogati granted him
a Sh15 million cash bail or Sh30 million bond.
The governor was on Monday produced before the
Anti-corruption court and charged with money laundering and unlawful acquisition
of public property at the County Headquarters amounting to Sh357 million.
The Star newspaper in an earlier article claimed to have
obtained court papers filed by the office of Director of Public Prosecutions
indicating that Sonko through an affidavit had claimed he was ailing from at
least four life-threatening conditions as he sought to secure his release from
prison years ago.

vacated on medical grounds? If that is the case then the lies, drama and all
