AYUB SAVULA CLAIMS HE SIGNED A MEMORANDUM WITH FERNANDES BARASA TO BE CO-GOVERNOR

Calls by politicians for voting for the Azimio party have continued to echo in Malava with various leaders traversing the sub-county in search of votes with the latest ones being DAP-Kenya DP Governor nominee for Kakamega County Ayub Savula and Chemuche Ward candidate Geoffrey Sikolia. The two politicians addressed wananchi at Malava Total filling station after holding another political rally Kuvasali.

Ayub Savula disclosed that he signed a memorandum with Fernandes Barasa which was deposited at the Registrar of Political Parties to be co-governor where he would be in charge of Upper Kakamega (North) Malava, Matete, Lugari and Lumakanda while Barasa handles the lower side of the county.

Savula rubbished the Oparanya/Kutima leadership that later saw Mr Kutima BEING tossed out of power saying it was based on mutual trust unlike theirs which has documentary evidence giving them equal powers and privileges to run the county affairs. I have been an MP for two terms and know all the political antics applied, I assure voters that their fair share of resources will be rightfully allocated without any qualms owing to the signed MOU.

I was to vie as governor but Hon. Raila Odinga approached me and asked me to support Mr Barasa because I was still young and could contest in 2027. That is how we ended up with the Barasa / Savula merger. He further rubbished UDP Cyrus Jirongo’s bid to vie for governorship as a big joke as he was going nowhere but will only split the Luhya vote, especially votes from the northern part of the county and yet his earlier endeavours to vie for Senator in 2013 and the Presidency in 2017 bore no fruits, he has been held captive in Shikutse market for failing to oil the hands of the electorates during one of his campaigns in Malava.

Savula called for block voting from the northern side of the county to enable him to bring on the table enough votes hence more development for them. He said their government will set aside Ksh.1.2 Billion to initiate projects within the upper Kakamega and trashed Dr Betty Inyangala as a flower girl who will not be able to bring any development in Malava compared to him and Barasa.

We have set aside funds that will be confirmed by the Assembly once we are in office through a supplementary budget to tarmac all the roads in Malava and equip our hospitals with drugs. He blamed Senator Malala for failing to scrutinize and ensure fair distribution of resources to all the sub-counties and added that he was unfit to become governor.

“Malala let Oparanya only heap projects in lower Kakamega and left out the upper side, now he is here asking you to vote for him, no way, he failed you and he should be kicked out” We have set aside a further Ksh.1.5 Billion to connect electricity to homes within the sub-county and urged them to consider Azimio through Raila's leadership as the next government of the republic of Kenya.
