National Environment Management Authority Director General Prof Geoffrey Wahungu has been replaced after he appeared in court yesterday over the Arror and Kimwarer dam’s corruption allegations. He was replaced by Mr Mamo Mamo in an acting capacity.
Mr. John Konchellah led the NEMA board in arriving at the decision, they also appointed Mr. Zephaniah Ouma as acting director for compliance and enforcement after David Ongare was also charged at the Anti-Corruption Court.
NEMA officers are said to have hastily issued the Environment Impact Assessment licenses even without having the L.R numbers (as there was no land at all) and without following the due process.
