WHAT DOES WILLIAM RUTO KNOW ABOUT THE POLISH ARMS IMPORT SCANDAL?

While the DP Dr Ruto belatedly admits that the former Sports Secretary Mr Rashid Echesa and his would be Polish financial prey victims, met for "only 23 minutes" at his official Harambee House Annex office, Dr Ruto pointed the Polish military equipment supplier hopefuls could have, for "months", met with other senior government officials especially at the Department of Defense (DoD).

What does Deputy President William Samoei Ruto actually know regarding the arms import scandal from Poland? This is the most embarrassing scandal that has demeaned his office and literally converted it into a crime scene to behold.

This comes even as calls for his resignation are made by sections of political elite. Incidentally, some of those calling for his resignation are active suspects in different forms of corruption.

Whether it was a diversionary tactic or genuine pointer to unearthing the real architects behind the scam at the second highest office - the damage appeared to have already been done. In a highly emotional and non-strategic tweet on Sunday morning, Dr Ruto seemed to open the pandora's box of what could turn to be a spiral web in government circles.

Mr Echesa is said to have used Dr Ruto's office to obtain Sh11 million as facilitation fees from Eco Advanced Technologies Company under false pretense he could help them seal the mouth-watering deal. He was charged on Monday together with one Daniel Otieno, Clifford Okoth and Kennedy Oyoo, with 12 counts of attempting to defraud Polish team.
